Keep on keeping on

I heard a song on the radio today and the lyrics really resonated with me. It said “You’ve got to keep on keeping on, no matter how hard it is”.

I wanted to pass it on to you in case you needed to hear it too.

In December many of us planned out what the start of 2021 was going to look like. Strategies and plans were all neatly written out. I don’t know about you but I felt pretty pleased with myself!

Then along came lockdown 3.0 and put lots of those plans on the back-burner, which is why I’ve been less visible online lately.

We’ve all been acclimatising. Some of us getting used to being alone all the time, some of us, including myself, doing the homeschooling-while-working-from-home juggle, some of us not able to work at all. We’ve all had to be flexible and go with the flow.

I’ve had to cut down on the amount of paid work I can fit into my week and rethink my social media posts. I’ve had to cross the free online trainings I wanted to give you off the list altogether because there aren’t enough hours in the day and frankly I don’t have the brain space. Sorry about that.

Slow progress is still progress

But I’m not here to tell you about my struggles, because I don’t think mine are that different to anyone else’s. What I am here to say is – just keep on going.

Keep going and trust that you will get through this and be a better, more patient person than you were before because of it.

That’s what I’m hoping anyway!

I’ll leave you with the wise words of N.F. Porter that have become a bit of a mantra for me today.

“You gotta keep on keeping on
No  matter how hard it is
You  gotta keep on keeping on
No matter how rough it gets”

I’d like to thank N.F. Porter for his musical pep talk today.

I hope it can help you too!
