How to brand your social media posts

Using social media is a great way to build and enhance your brand. But it’s pretty crowded and it can be difficult to get noticed. So here are my top three ways that you can improve your social media branding and increase your online presence.

1. Tone of voice

A consistent tone of voice is really important. Do you talk in a laid back, direct, jovial or serious way? Mixing these tones up can be very confusing for your followers, so stick to one!

Think about how your ideal customers like to communicate. What kind of information would they like to get from you?

Over time your followers will learn what to expect from you and you will become a reliable source of information on your topic.

2. Visual branding

Wouldn’t it be great if people recognised that each and every post was from you as soon as they saw it?

If you use the same colours, fonts and styling on your images, graphics and videos then over time your followers will get used to it and recognise that it’s you – without even seeing your logo or your name!

It’s a good idea to create templates for different types of posts that you might regularly use – for example if you’ve got a new product coming out or a sale on – then you can just update the text on that graphic and it’s good to go.

If you’re sharing images it’s also beneficial to add your logo on them. This makes your presence stronger and it helps to link back to your page if somebody shares your content without a link to where it came from.

3. Stay relevant

I know I’m repeating myself, but once again this is about consistency and your ideal customer!

Only share things that are relevant to your ideal customers. This will make sure that you’re attracting the right type of people and creating better relationships with them. 

Keep it simple

Consistency, as with so many things in business, is key!  

If you follow these three basic rules you will build better brand awareness, get more relevant people reading your posts, and eventually into your sales funnel!
